Good to know

The closest airport to Cabarete is Puerto Plata (25 minutes by car). Depending from where you are coming there might be no flights to Puerto Plata or it is cheaper to fly into St. Domingo or Santiago. St. Domingo is 3 hours away ($160 each way by taxi), Santiago is 1.5 hours away (80 each way by taxi). There are also bus connections or the option to rent a car. However, we will help you arrange the travel from any airport (driver, car rental, bus connections). In case you are flying into Punta Cana you can fly once a day form there to Puerto Plata airport. We can book the flight for you as well.

Foreigners traveling to the Dominican Republic need a passport or equivalent national identity document.

Travelers from the following countries do not need a visa nor tourist card: Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Peru, South Korea, and Uruguay.

Travelers from the following countries can purchase a tourist card for $10 U.S. at the airport instead of getting a visa: Albania, Andorra, Antigua, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Curacao, Denmark, Dominica, Finland, France (includes Guadeloupe, Guyana, Germany, Greece, Guyana, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Martinique, Mexico, Monaco, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Rumania, Russia, San Marino, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Marteen, St. Martin, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Slovenia, Spain, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos Islands, Ukraine, United Kingdom, the United States of America (including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands), Venezuela and Yugoslavia.

The voltage in the DR is 110. If you are coming from Europe, it is important that you are bringing adapters (cellular, notebook, ipod, razor or hair dryer) with you.
